update-texmf will be modified soon
Hi all,
update-texmf will be modified in the next tetex-bin.
Basically, it will concatenate only a file with name *.cnf
so each package you maintain should rename the files in
/etc/texmf/texmf.d;
for example, we will rename 05TeXMF to 05TeXMF.cnf etc.
Further, I believe it is okay if you rename the file name of your
package before the next tetex-bin is uploaded because the
current update-texmf concatenate all files in /etc/texmf/texmf.d
except *.dpkg-[a-z]*, *~, *.bak, *.orig, *.BAK, *.ORIG.
Note that the files of your packages will be configuration files
so you should be ver careful and I believe you should first rename
them (if already exist) in preinst.
Note also that update-fmtutil already worked in this way.
Thanks for your cooperation.
Best regards, 2002/12/8
