No report at all which means this will be a problem specific
in your system.  So I set this to normal.
 
> Visit the log files in directory
>   /usr/share/texmf/web2c

As the above message told you please show us, for example,
latex.log in that directory.  Only the last part will be
enough.  Or

> Output of initex is in /tmp/texdAuIIa

this one might be also helpful.

Also please show us the outputs of the followings;

kpsewhich --format=cnf texmf
kpsewhich --format=tex latex.ltx
kpsewhich --format=tex latex.ini
