Bug#99154: Please include Eurosym package into tetex
"TG" == Thomas Gebhardt <gebhardt@HRZ.Uni-Marburg.DE>
Thomas,
TG> the new European currency Euro will come as "hardware"
TG> soon. So it would be nice to provide the Euro symbol in
TG> the default LaTeX installation. Maybe the eurosym package
TG> (http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/packages/TeX/fonts/eurosym/)
TG> could be included?
The eurosym package (available from CTAN at
/tex-archive/fonts/eurosym/) does not have a license that would
allow us to include it in Debian's teTeX packages. (It also can't
be included in Thomas Esser's upstream teTeX.)
If you're interested in having the package in teTeX, it would be
great if you could write to the author of eurosym and have him
clarify the license of the package and upload a new version to
CTAN. Once that's done, you could write to Thomas Esser and ask
him to include the package, or followup to this bug report and we
can forward it to Thomas for action.
Thanks for your cooperation.
