Bug#131191: teTeX Licensing Update (2002-04-08)

Thomas,

I'm writing to let you know about mail I've received since the
last summary.

BibTeX

I wrote to Oren, and he assured me that the files were free and
covered by the terms in the README file. I sent mail to
debian-legal to see if that covered us or if they wanted to see
something more specific, but haven't seen any followups.

bbold

Obviously you're on top of this one -- thanks for pushing.

beton and euler

I got another address for Frank Jensen from Dag Langmyrh --
available on request -- and wrote to him, but haven't heard
   anything.

fancybox

Timothy Van Zandt wrote to say that he would relicense the
package under the Artistic License, but that it would take him
some time to make the changes on CTAN. In the meantime, he
authorized use to change the license notificiation. I can send
you his message if that would be useful.

mt11p

Draholslav has relicensed the package under the LPPL, and sent
me a copy of the tar file. He asked if he needed to update
CTAN, and I asked him to do so, so it should be showing up
   within the next few days.

wasy2 (fonts)

   Roland wrote back and said

The wasy fonts are a license-free package, i.e. you may do
      with it whatever you want.

in other words, public domain. I wrote back with some sample
text making the public domain status clear that he could add to
a README or to individual files, and also pushed the use of the
GPL or other free license instead. I also offered to do the
work to modify the files, if he wanted. I haven't heard back
   from him yet.
