Hi, Indstead of using unstable you could use testing and install only the few packages from unstable that you realy need. This works great with the pinning mechanism of apt (see http://www.argon.org/~roderick/apt-pinning.html for details). I'm using a 2.6.11 kernel on etch this way. Hope this helps Bye
