Although that sounds like a good idea, it didn't help either: I've
`find / -name dpkg\*', and there's only one dpkg binary, in /usr/bin.
This one, as well as /usr/bin/dpkg-deb and /usr/sbin/dpkg-divert,
identify as Version 1.4.0.30.

BTW, how do I find out which version of dpkg a particular .deb
expects?

Thanks,
