Re: ifconfig doesn't report Promiscuous interfaces
Just a followup to my last email: I tried booting the 2.2.18 kernel on
one system (not the firewall). Same behaviour with ifconfig not
reporting the PROMISCuous status of the card if a sniffer like tcpdump
or snort is running. I tried two drivers for my rtl8139-based card - the
rtl8139.o and 8139too.o, and got the same results from both.
However, "ifconfig eth0 promisc; ifconfig" reports the status
correctly.
