That's what prompted me to propose the task (along with getting a job
in grid computing).

Good - can you mention these on debian science too when they arrive.

There are a large number of globus packages. As mentioned elsewhere in
the thread, it may make sense for the globus maintainer to provide
client and a server metapackages. A grid task could then depend upon
these metapackages.
