I hereby add my voice to the number of people concerned at the state of Ekiga in Debian. If 4.0 doesn't get unblocked to be shipped in wheezy, we are going to be releasing a *very* buggy version to the world. Whereas Ekiga hasn't always shined by its stability, within a few minutes of using it, I was able to render my local configuration completely unuseable - Ekiga would simply crash on startup. This is bug #670405, which is fixed in experimental. The version of Ekiga currently in wheezy is over 2 years old (june 201), while the 3.2 series it's following is over 3 years old. Granted, 4.0 just came out, but from the looks of it, it's actually *more* stable than the 3.2 release. I understand that the diff is huge, and this would be a major exception, but I think it's something that should seriously be considered. Otherwise Ekiga should be considered from removal from wheezy, as there is no way security patches can be maintained for that old release onwards.
