Package: release.debian.org hi debian release team-- FireGPG is unfortunately in an unmaintained state by upstream, and 0.8 appears to be a terminal release. http://blog.getfiregpg.org/2010/06/07/firegpg-discontinued/ version 0.7.10 (in testing right now) appears to have had a transient FTBFS due (i think) to some fluctuations in the xulrunner-dev packages. (#595833) the only change (aside from localization updates) which upstream made for version 0.8 was to disable the (broken) GMail support, as the web service changed too frequently to keep up. As such, i've packaged 0.8, which i'm willing to maintain for the life of squeeze in the hopes that someone new will pick up upstream development. However, i'm not prepared to deal with bugs in the gmail support features, since they are a known problem and a sisyphean task. So i ask that you either update firegpg in squeeze from 0.7.10 to 0.8-1, or pull firegpg from squeeze entirely. There are no reverse dependencies, so i don't believe that an update to 0.8 would be harmful, but i trust you all to make the right decision for squeeze. Thanks for all your work. --dkg firegpg (0.8-1) unstable; urgency=low * New Upstream Release - disables gmail support (Closes: #567735) * enable the use of C++ extensions to match how libxul is being built (according to #warnings in /usr/include/xulrunner-1.9.1/unstable/nscore.h:406) * bumped standards-version to 3.9.1 (no changes needed) -- Daniel Kahn Gillmor <dkg@fifthhorseman.net> Sun, 19 Sep 2010 17:44:32 -0400Attachment: signature.asc
