I'm sorry if this was disruptive. However, I saw no sign of any activity to fix these bugs, the first of which was release-critical. I did leave a day between announcing my intention (via the bug report) and making my NMU, and I also checked with vorlon whether it was likely to be disruptive. However it appears that bug traffic to the mailing list is being delayed by moderation of non-subscribers - i.e. most bug submitters and non-maintainers.
