This is not enough information. Please paste the exact error messages
that apt-get install reports.

Thanks,
Josh
Pls try apt-get install kopete.
I'm using sarge 3.1, kernel 2.6.8.

Please leave the bug e-mail address in the cc.

I have kopete and kdelibs4 both installed. The reason I need the error
messages you are getting is because everything works for me. Therefore, I
suspect there is some other package you have installed that is causing
problems, but I can't tell what it is without the error messages apt-get
is giving you.

Thanks,
Josh
Pls read attached.

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
kopete: Depends: kdelibs4 (>= 4:3.3.2-1) but it is not going to be
installed

Ok - now I need you to try

apt-get -s install kdelibs4

and send the output. This will simulate an install of kdelibs4, and should tell us what is keeping it from being installed.

Josh

Attached is the output of apt-get -s install kdelibs4
