That's why faqomatic Suggests: libgd-perl.

   Suggests
This is used to declare that one package may be more useful
with one or more others. Using this field tells the packaging
system and the user that the listed packages are related to
this one and can perhaps enhance its usefulness, but that
installing this one without them is perfectly reasonable.

It's perfectly reasonable to install faqomatic without libgd-perl. The
statgraph module won't work, but faqomatic doesn't die if a module can't
be loaded. Furthermore, libgd-perl would pull in dependencies on X,
which I'd rather not require in a package that might well be used on a
small headless server machine. I'm therefore closing this bug.

Regards,
