Package: cupsys-client
Version: 1.1.14-3
Severity: normal

Hi,

I've noticed that cupsys-clients only report the default PPD options with
'lpoptions -l' and don't account for the site customizations made to the PPD
on the cupsys server (with 'lpoptions -o <key>=<value>'). And yet, these
server-based (stored in '/etc/cups/lpoptions') still apply to all print jobs
launched by cups-client on the client machines.

So, let's assume we have a client 'ac' with the following '/etc/cups/client.conf':

   ServerName fs

Then, we have the server 'fs' with a full cupsys installation, including all
the modifications to the default PPD made with 'lpoptions'.

Here's confirmation of the issue:

  freedman@ac:~$ lpoptions -l > ac
  freedman@ac:~$ ssh fs
  freedman@fs:~$ lpoptions -l > fs
  freedman@fs:~$ diff ac fs

  Default hplj4000n InstalledMemory=36MB JCLResolution=1200dpi MediaType=Plain
  freedman@fs:~$

This is primarily an issue because individual users on the clients may want
to modify their specific print jobs (ie 'lp -o MediaType=Labels') and it's
difficult for them to easily do so if they cannot determine the defaults
applied to them (ie baseline from which they should modify).

Thanks for the help, and take care,

Daniel
