splix and cupsddk
Hi people... i'm charly.. and i'm a new in this list..
yesterday i've installed a Samsung ML-2010 and researching what is the
best driver i've found that:
the most developed driver for Samsung Printers (SPLII protocol) it's
"splix" http://splix.ap2c.org/ and i can't found it in Debian
then i say "ok, compile it!!" but i found that when the splix source try
to make the PPD file, it needs a utility called "ppdc"
i've looked for this tool en packages.debian.org (in the "Search the
contents of packages" section) and i can't found it.
Looking on the web too, i found this command in a package called "CUPS
Driver Developement Kit" in the mail CUPS site
http://www.cups.org/ddk/index.php
i want to know if there is someone working on either package or is
already included and i'm so stupid that i can not found them :P
if no body is working on them, may be i can help and work in those
packages. As i can read in the New Maintainers corner, i will need a
sponsor, and according to my knowledge, a LOT of help...
sorry if my english is bad... i do not speak english.. i just try to do
my best
take care
byz!
charly
