Yup, there is a small bug which manifests itself on ppc preventing it from
building. The package maintainer has decided to not apply the patch fixing
it to keep the package out of testing (upcoming sarge release), bad thing
is it's not available for ppc even in unstable.

Anyway, you can 'apt-get source' the package, apply the patch from:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=285186
and build the package yourself

Exactly, wxwidgets2.5 is the source package name.
