No; in fact, the behaviour of the second head is basically undefined
with it enabled.

It doesn't depend on the driver but on whether the X server considers
the card primary. The asterisk in the X server log line
(--) PCI:*(0:16:0) ATI Technologies Inc Radeon R250 Lf [Radeon Mobility
9000 M9] rev 1, Mem @ 0xb8000000/27, 0xb0000000/16, I/O @ 0x0400/8, BIOS
@ 0xf1000000/17
means that it does here, so later on there's

but I don't know exactly what determines it.
