ah, there, in the end it *is* the RAM (and CPU) that makes the
difference. and yeh, IDE cards and disks are cheaper, but i'm kinda
attached to SCSI disks. and i'd rather spend the money on RAM
regardless, since even for an older box, it's cheaper - i don't have
many options - buying a new disk is not in my price range, but more RAM
is.
