CallerID with Apple onboard (usb) modem.

I've got a G4 400mhz. AGP machine with the built in Apple USB modem.

I'm setting up a Telephone Answering macine using VGetty, which is going
a *LOT* smoother than on my other linux box (Intel, with a cheap ass
Jaton Voice Modem. Had to modifiy the source and compile to get it to
work), but I've hit a snag (which didn't work on my other box either):

Does anyone know if the modem I'm using supports callerid? Or if there
is a firmware patch to get it to do so? I've tried passing #CID=1 and
#CID=2, for which I get:

10/08 11:51:26 yS0 send: AT#CID=2[0d]
10/08 11:51:26 yS0 CND: OK[0a]AT#CID=2[0d]
10/08 11:51:26 yS0 CND: AT#CID=2[0d][0a]OK ** found **
10/08 11:58:03 yS0 send: AT#CID=2[0d]
10/08 11:58:03 yS0 CND: OK[0a]AT#CID=2[0d]
10/08 11:58:03 yS0 CND: AT#CID=2[0d][0a]OK ** found **

Which leads me to believe that callerid is there, but it's not getting
passed to the message_program.

Any clues?
