Hi Michael,

I have exactly the same problem with my Pismo running pmud (the version found in sid) and kernel
2.2.18pre21 - if you are experiencing this, I strongly suggest that you _don't_ run 'backlight'
with an argument other than '-g'; I once shutdown my computer while trying to dim my screen...
:-) Use fbsetlevel (works great) or 'setterm -blank' instead.
