Hi,

This issue needs work upstream and giving the low activity there I
don't think there will be a patch soon.
Also, according to upstream, rotation was never applied by default due
to performance impact, so this is a new feature request rather than a
regression. And the one time fix (that is, add vf-pre=rotate to
mplayer.conf[1]) on user side is cheap enough to consider this a
wishlist bug.

[1] I tested this with the video provided and it works, it may not
   work with some other -vo, not sure.
