..probably damaged. Remove it from your mirror, force a check on your file system and then update your mirror, to fetch a new copy.
(e.g. ' fsck -fy /dev/mirror-disk-slice ', rtfm.)
That's my problem: I don't have it on my mirror (fs IS ok!!) and I can't get a new copy as this file doesn't exist in any mirror I searched!!
..then it probably should not be on your mirror, either.

Therefore I checked on a few mirrors (ftp.us.debian.org, ftp.de.debian.org, ftp2.de.debian.org, debian.swordcoast.net) and the file is actually not in the refered directory.
..these are quite likely right in not having it, so see above.
Why would debmirror try to download this file if it is not required?
..pass, only I'd _guess_ _you_ have a bad index file somewhere, and not the official mirrors.

Unfortunately the 'Index' file _on_ each mirror I checked had this file listed but didn't provide the file.

Nevertheless the 'Index' file in the directory is listing the file:

..this is a _low_ traffic list, I see 18 messages here since September 4'th 2003. Read them. ;o)
Did so, but could not find anything related to this problem. :-(
..that was meant as a wee hint on your _speedy_ repost. ;o)

My speedy repost came to the fact that I realized that in the mail archive where more emails then I ever received.
Therefore I (re)subscribed to the list and sent my message again.

Cheers,
Klaus
