Re: R4x00 and R5000 issues
I had some problems with fdisk when I first tried to parition the disk.
This is what my partition looks like:
Disk /dev/sda (SGI disk label): 5 heads, 104 sectors, 4019 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 520 * 512 bytes
----- partitions -----
Device Info Start End Sectors Id System
/dev/sda1 boot 101 3820 1934400 83 Linux native
/dev/sda2 swap 3821 3980 83200 82 Linux swap
/dev/sda9 0 100 52520 0 SGI volhdr
/dev/sda11 0 3980 2069785 6 SGI volume
----- bootinfo -----
Bootfile: /linux
----- directory entries -----
0: sgilabel sector 4 size 512
1: sash sector 5 size 140800
2: ide sector 280 size 980992
3: linux sector 2196 size 2636202
I actually created the swap partition first and then the main linux
partition. Then I changed the volume header size. I used the following
website as a guide for the install:
http://www.stafwag.f2s.com/indy/?lang=eng
Hope this helps.
