Seems a good idea, but the fact that its contents is undefined might
lead to confusion. For example: Should apache switch from /var/www to
/srv/www or just to /srv?

I have mixed feelings about this.
On one hand, we are violating the current standard not only by having
directories /cdrom and /floppy but by APT actually using /cdrom as its
mount point, which is even worse. In this sense the proposed addition
to the standard might help us to be "conformant", but we could well
modify APT so that it uses /var/lib/apt/cdrom instead.
On the other hand I think it is completely out of the scope for the
FHS to tell the user where he/she should mount his removable media.
Do we really need to tell the users where they should mount their DVD?
If so, perhaps they should not be using Unix in the first place.
