Revisiting this, I am inclined to agree with the tag being a bit pre-mature.

For now, I have decided to revert the tag.  Lets revisit this once
etc/init.d/skeleton and the log_* functions issue have been sorted out.

PS: Revert was commit bed4738 (reminder to self for when this is to be
re-instated).
