If someone can dig up where Sun clarifies the meaning of the license to mean MIT/X11+not alone, (or better, just MIT/X11) that would indicate that Sun was merely sloppy on the wording of the license. Furthermore, as a slight nitpick, the 'part of a product or program developed by the user' only applies to distribution or licensing, not modification, copying, or use.
