It's the "modification" that is covered, and you're not allowed to modify
in such a way as to remove a copyright notice that is normally displayed
on startup.

I think the reasonable interpretation is that the notice should be retained
on the homepage (which is usually the first page the user sees, hence
"startup"), but not on the others.

Do we really need this software anyway?
