Re: Bug#212895: Official Logo is not DFSG Free (with patch)

[Jaldar: I'm shifting this discussion to debian-legal and maintaining
you on the Cc: list. Appologies if you are subscribed.]

[Legal: I'm leaving the bug closed for right now, since I'm not
interested in playing bts tennis.]

When originally written, it was intented that the DFSG apply to the
entire content of main.[1] We have (to my knowledge) consistently
interpreted it this way.

I was merely linking to examples of discussion. I'm relatively certain
that there is a broad consensus on -legal that the official logo is
not DFSG free. [If I'm mistaken, please correct me.]

That might be true, but it's ambiguity doesn't change it's free or
non-freeness.

I'm not discussing the legality of your distribution of the official
logo, merely the fact that the offical logo is not free.

The non-free logo can be used anywhere that its license allows.
However, it cannot be included in packages that are in main, as it is
not DSFG free.
