ACPI on Toshiba 2805-S302
I just installed Sarge on this laptop and it all sees to run fine
with the default Kernel (which uses ACPI) 2.6.8-2-386.
One problem, though, is my wireless card -- a Netgear WG511.
Inserting the wireless card I get:
ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:06:00.0[A]: no GSI
eth1 could not install IRQ handler
prism54: probe of 0000:06:00.0 failed with -5
If I boot with acpi off then the wireless card works fine. (I then
have to load the "apm" module so it will power down when I halt.)
Is anyone aware of a fix to get the IRQ handler installed (assuming
that's the problem)?
On the other hand, what benefits will I see using ACPI over APM?
I've never tried suspend on this laptop.
But, I do have one issue where the laptop seems to get down to about
85% battery and then just shuts off. Not sure how to tell if that's
really a bad battery or if a software problem.
This site[1] commented that they couldn't get the WG511 running with
Prism54 (maybe also due to ACPI). Perhaps I should try the
ndiswrapper.
