Hi Yigal,

also, I forgot; some dhcp-server require you to have ident running, otherwise they drop the service within 30 seconds.

That is: in /etc/inetd.conf have ident unquoted, make sure the rest is quoted.
Start inetd using:
/etc/init.d/inetd start
