I have an ipw2200 as well, but since I already used it before there were
Debian packages, I always used the vanilla source package. So, you
should be able to get it to work one way or the other.

Have a look at 'man patch'. In general, if you're in the right
directory, do 'patch -p1<somefile.diff'. I took a look at the bug you're
quoting, and they say you should use -p2 instead of -p1. So, simply try
it, and if you give the wrong parameter, it'll warn you.

I think so. Getting the ipw2200 driver to work can be pretty tough, if
you combine it with the kill switch, led, wpa, etc. If you have
ipw2200-specific questions in the future, you should probably try the
ipw2200 mailing list (ipw2100-devel@lists.sourceforge.net - no, the 2100
is not a typo!).
