Ok, this is my lucky day, I have the same configuration: testing xfree86 4.3
kernel 2.6.10 self-compiled, ATI Rage Mobility P/M AGP 2x (rev 64).
I had a look at those files; please confirm what I understand I have to do:
1. # cd /usr/src/linux
# patch -p1 < drm-2.6.10-20050220.patch
kernel compilation

2. cd /usr/X11R6/lib/modules
make directory gatos and copy files *.drv.o
make directory mach64 and copy files *.drv.o e *.dri.so

No xfree86 reconfiguration?
