Bug#1053856: firmware-amd-graphics: Inconsistent firmware snapshot for Zen4/Phoenix1 GPUs
Package: firmware-amd-graphics
Version: 20230210-5
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
X-Debbugs-Cc: mario.limonciello@amd.com, wixorpeek@gmail.com
firmware-amd-graphics version 20230515-3 (currently in unstable and testing) ships
an inconsistent snapshot of the firmware files, which make Zen4/Phoenix1 GPU
crash when starting Xorg. That renders any GUI unusable.
Investigation and confirmation from AMD devs:
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/2908#note_2125041
The firmware currently in linux-firmware works correctly. The snapshot
shipped in stable (package version 20230210-5) also works correctly.
