Hi, Salvatore Bonaccorso wrote: > Got off-bug a report from someone with similar Hardware with similar > symptoms. That was my "bug report". Just have the attached screenshot so far. 5.16 (ABI versions 1 as well as 2) hangs on my Thinkpad A31 with a Pentium 4 CPU and a Radeon graphics adapter. (Can dig up hardware details once I rebooted back into 5.15-3 which works totally fine on it, but https://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:A31 should already give you an idea of the hardware available in this model: Intel Mobile Pentium 4-M and ATI Mobility Radeon 7500.) The T41 of the original submitter has the same graphics card (according to the initial bug report). And given that for me it always hangs forever after these lines (copied the last two lines of the screenshot by typing; uptime of course minimally varies each time), I'd assume it's related to that ATI Mobility Radeon 7500): [ 9.100148] Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 175x65 [ 9.120026] radeon 000:01:00.0: [drm] fb0: radeondrmfb frame buffer device _ The last underscore is where the cursor sits at the end. I left the host in that state for close to a day. Nothing more happened and the host didn't come up on the network either. Not even screen blanking happened. The host reacts neither on Ctrl-Alt-Del nor on Alt-Left, Alt-Right or e.g. Alt-F2. Have to reboot hard by pressing the power button for several seconds as well. The latest kernel version I tried and with which this happened was linux-image-5.16.0-2-686-pae-unsigned version 5.16.10-1. It's the boot from which the screenshot is. But it already happened with 5.16.7-1 (or 5.16.7-2, but that shouldn't make a big difference).
