The latest libsas/ata fixes for drive error recovery mechanism is not available in Debian 7 RC1 kernel. The fixes mentioned in the below link

Needs to be ported to the debian kernel.

Note: Rhel 6.3 and SLES SP3 has the fixes available.

This bug was filed for a very old kernel or the bug is old itself
without resolution.

If you can reproduce it with

- the current version in unstable/testing
- the latest kernel from backports
