I am using Debian Lenny 5.10 , kernel 2.6.38.8 , libc6 version: 2.7-18lenny7

I am trying to upgrade linux kernel from 2.6.26 to 2.6.38.8.
After upgrade success.
Every time when I use external USB interface DVD ROM, I had a prompt up message saying that " your system had a kernel failure,   "
Then the original shell prompt out below messages:

The external USB DVD ROM works fine before I upgrade kernel.
But it can't work now.
Please give me some suggestion to solve this problem.
Thank you.

Hi

This bug was filed for a very old kernel or the bug is old itself
without resolution.

If you can reproduce it with

- the current version in unstable/testing
- the latest kernel from backports

please reopen the bug, see https://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control
for details.

Regards,
Salvatore
