I applied the 8 patches to a 3.2.35 kernel that was pulled in from the
'apt-get source linux' command. It still failed with the same error
messages within 30 minutes.

I've continued to look into this, and my previous findings from the git
bisect were wrong.

After two more failed bisect sessions, I stopped bisecting on
drivers/net/wireless/ath*. I'm currently in the middle of a bisect
between v3.6 and v3.7, and there are still a couple more steps to go
through. But as of right now, I've verified the issue still reproduces
up to at least:
[0cad3ff40486e341715cac3b5ef7b135fa0ba316] Merge branch 'akpm' (Fixes
from Andrew)

And I haven't seen it reproduce for over a day with:
[f3a443af9e85d6c6c7e7506400024a85a8dd9496] Merge
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/sparc

I saw at least one interesting commit between those two, but I'll keep
chipping away at this through git bisect until I (hopefully) have
something.
