Package: linux-image-2.6.18-6-686
Version: 2.6.18.dfsg.1-18etch6
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

System hangs when multiple threads use fcntl(2) F_SETLKW
to synchronize file accesses.

The bug is described in LKML (october 2007):
http://kerneltrap.org/mailarchive/linux-kernel/2007/10/17/346152

It is possible to reproduce it with this C test case:
http://lkml.org/lkml/2007/10/17/472

PS: I hit this bug when testing a home-made Apache module on
Debian Stable.

It is easier to change the specification to fit the program than vice versa.
