After installing Debian on my PC the network card sometimes refuses to work.
dmesg shows the following problem:
  e1000e 0000:00:19.0: PCI INT A disabled
  e1000e: probe of 0000:00:19.0 failed with error -3
Rebooting the PC always helps, then the PCI problems disappear. It seems that
the problem only appears if the PC was switched off before for a longer time
(e.g. during night). Switching off the PC for a few seconds doesn't let the
problem reappear.

I'm using an Intel Core i7 860 CPU with an on-board Intel 82578DC Gigabit
Network controller. Previously I had Ubuntu 9.10 installed which I now replaced
with Debian sid. Ubuntu used linux-image-2.6.31-22-generic (AMD64) which never
had these problems. In Debian I now use linux-image-2.6.32-5-amd64 which shows
the mentioned problem. Upgrading to the experimental 2.6.37 is (currently) not
possible due to missing nvidia kernel module packages for this version.

I'll attach the full kernel boot output with the problem and one without the
problem. In the latter one I rearranged some output lines and modified some
numbers (times, bogo-mips) to match the former one. The remaining differences
are for the e1000e driver and a difference in the CPU MCA banks.
