Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Version: 2:2.9.1-2
Severity: important
File: /etc/modprobe.d/i915-kms.conf

Starting X results in a black screen, that is the screen is instantly
turned off and only a reboot can activate it again. The keyboard however
works in some ways. I can still switch vts and enter commands such as
reboot.

Removing /etc/modprobe.d/i915-kms.conf solves the issue.

This doesn't sound like the correct solution though...

Is there any way I can help debugging this issue?

Helmut
