That agrees with my understanding.

According to <http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=36500#specs>, there
are some variants of the E7400 which do not support VT-x.  These are
distinguished by 'Ordering Code' and 'SPEC Code'; I assume one or both
of these codes are shown on the processor packaging.  Please check
whether you have one of these variants.
