It is already done and have made sveal machines of me non-usable!!!

There is a SMP-Problem with a couple of Athlon Socket A mainboards
and Debian 686 stock kernel has SMP included by default.

Result:  The new Debian-Installer does not more work since you
         can not use another repository for the linux-image.

         This mean, if you have to admin severl 100 Socket A
         machines you can not more install over official Debian
         mirrors and must maintain your own one containing
         additional the k7 linux-image-2.6
