It is there .. The problem was that /dev/pts didn't exist, which caused the mount of devpts to fail. Maybe this is because I'm not running udev inside the domU's, but that is something I would like to avoid anyway.
The domU's have been installed with xen-create-image (xen-tools 2.8-2), debootstrap method. Maybe one of these packages can be fixed so that /dev/pts will be created during the installation of a domU...
