Bug#366507: Values for an older kernel

As nothing seems to have changed in this area, I thought that
comparing what happens on my laptop with an older kernel (2.4.27)
could lead to understanding of the situation...

The 2.4.27 kernel seems also to miss IRQs for PCMCIA. Anyway, it
can handle cards quite happily to the contrary of 2.6.8, 2.8.12 and
   2.6.15...

So here are the same information as provided for 2.6.15 but with a
   2.4.17 kernel from package:

ii kernel-image-2.4.27-2-386 2.4.27-12 Linux
kernel image for version 2.4.27 on 386
