Bug#310112: CON_BOOT error msg while using 'make' to compile a new kernel

After unpacking kernel-source-2.6.8.tar.bz2, I encountered the following error msgs while compiling a new kernel.

Hi,

hppa architecture is one of the few which requires additional patches to build. To get a buildable source code you need to install the package kernel-patch-2.6.8-hppa and after unpacking the kernel tree from the kernel-source, run the script

/usr/src/kernel-patches/hppa/apply/hppa_2_6_8

from its top level to apply the additional patches. If this fixes your problems, please close this bug.
