Package: udev
Version: 0.054-1
Severity: normal

Hi,
since udevsend is used as hotplug handler firmware downloading of
my at76c503a broke:

kernel: at76c503-rfmd 2-1:1.0: usb_probe_interface - got id
kernel: /usr/src/modules/at76c503a/at76c503-fw_skel.c: downloading firmware atmel_at76c503-rfmd.bin
kernel: /usr/src/modules/at76c503a/at76c503-fw_skel.c: firmware atmel_at76c503-rfmd.bin not found.
kernel: /usr/src/modules/at76c503a/at76c503-fw_skel.c: You may need to download the firmware from http://www.thekelleys.org.uk/atmel or ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/at76c503a/firmware/
kernel: at76c503-rfmd: probe of 2-1:1.0 failed with error -14

However when I do:
echo /sbin/hotplug > /proc/sys/kernel/hotplug
things are working fine again:
kernel: at76c503-rfmd 2-1:1.0: usb_probe_interface - got id
kernel: /usr/src/modules/at76c503a/at76c503-fw_skel.c: downloading firmware atmel_at76c503-rfmd.bin
kernel: /usr/src/modules/at76c503a/at76c503-fw_skel.c: got it.
Cheers,

   * workaound fix to load firmware problem for sarge release.
     closes: Bug#297481, Bug#299154
/sbin/hotplug may have potential problem in hotplug event multiplexing,
but /sbin/udevsend has grave problem in firmware loading in old kernel,
so I add workaround fix to this.
Recommends upgrade kernel 2.6.10 or later.
