Bug#261024: kernel-image-2.6.7-powerpc: SBAudigy randomly disappear

Package: kernel-image-2.6.7-powerpc
Severity: normal

I nasty problem hit me some time ago, and I belive it can be kernel related.

My sound card (SBAudigy) randomly vanish from system when it is in use. For
examplelistening mp3 files is almost impossible, after random amount of time
XMMS stops to play and displays requester that the card in use (Hmmm, impossible
because only XMMS is running) and maybe it's incorrectly plugged in to the slot.

This happen with all programs that use sound and when such 'hit' appear nothing
can bring me sound again (restarting alsa, restarting X, etc) only reboot can cure
it for short time.

Generaly this problem is realy random, sometimes it happend after 2-5 mins and
sometimes it makes me belive that it'sfixed and plays without any problems
longer than 2h.

I use Pegasos II machine with 512MB or ram na G4 (1GHz) CPU
