No, he is upgrading from a 2.4 to a 2.6 kernel. The fact that the
packages have separate names is just an artifact of our packging
practices.

That said, the real problem is probably a bug in either discover or
hotplug or whatever is used to load modules.

Bernhard, what module discovering package have you installed ?
