Sorry, I was unclear.
I was merely trying to point out that the problem existed, and was not
work-aroundable by keeping back, pinning or downgrading any existing
packages, with the exception of a fairly big downgrade for *all* of koffice.
I'd already hacked around it myself with a "dpkg --force-overwrite".
