I can't confirm, because I don't use an USB mouse on my machine any 
more. But with kernel 2.2.x I had problems with apm and usb. After 
suspend my USB mouse did'nt move any more. I also got errormessages 
from the USB subsystem that it can't recover any more. I don't know 
if this is a hardware specific bug and how common it is.

To find out have a look at /var/log/syslog
